September 2026: Together at the domain, between Macon and Tournus
Our domain is full of life! With our trail camera, we discover which animals feel at home among the grass, on the meadows, and in the trees. The area is a true paradise where day and night, all sorts of creatures scurry, run, and fly.
In the meadows:
We often see hares. Even when we mow with the tractor, they happily run ahead of us.
In the treetops:
Squirrels scamper from branch to branch to gather acorns, and occasionally take a sip of water from the pool. We even spotted the rare pine marten on camera! And up in the treetops, we hear woodland owls calling to each other every day.
Around the pond:
A beaver family has settled here. They lounge in the grass and have built their lodge further away near the neighbors. In addition, we hear frogs in the twilight.
In the twilight:
As soon as the sun sets, the hedgehogs come out and a fox slinks by. No worries: our chickens are all still safely roosting!
In the next blog, we take you into the bird world of Les Darbonnets.
