Viré Cellar (15 minutes) Since 1928, the Viré Cellar has been producing fruity and elegant white wines made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Today, it is proud of its Viré-Clessé village appellation and enhances its reputation through numerous vintages per plot that showcase the full potential of its exceptional terroir. It also produces other appellations such as Mâcon-Blanc, Mâcon-Villages and Crémant de Bourgogne. Abbey of Cluny (40 minutes) Just 40 minutes from Chavannes-sur-Reyssouze, you will find the legendary Abbey of Cluny, once the centre of European Benedictine monks. This impressive monastery is a historic monument and offers a glimpse into the religious and cultural life of the Middle Ages. Louhans Weekly Market (30 minutes) Louhans is a charming town known for its historical charm and is the gateway to the Bresse region. The Louhans market hall is one of the town's main attractions. This iconic 19th-century covered hall with 157 iron columns is a beautiful example of industrial architecture. Every Monday, a lively market takes place where you can buy local products, especially meat from the Bresse region. Brou Monastery in Bourg-en-Bresse (45 minutes) One of the most impressive monuments in the region. This 16th-century monastery complex is built in flamboyant Gothic style, founded by Margaret of Austria. Revermont Museum (45 minutes) The museum allows you to discover the daily life of the region from the 18th century to the present day: 19th-century classrooms, toys, old photos... Additionally, there is a historic herb garden with many ancient plant species. Beaune (1 hour) A town on the Saône that is more than worth a visit. Hotel Dieu, the old hospital, is a must-see, and Beaune is the heart of Burgundy Wine. Lyon (1.5 hours) This city is easily accessible and worth a visit! For a day trip, you will need to choose from the many highlights that the city has to offer, such as the iconic Basilica, located on Fourvière Hill, which offers not only a spiritual experience but also a breathtaking view of the city of Lyon. The interior is decorated with beautiful mosaics and paintings. The historic centre, Old Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is filled with charming Renaissance architecture, hidden streets and traboules (secret passages). It's the perfect place to stroll and enjoy the unique atmosphere. Finally, we highly recommend the Paul Bocuse Halls. The culinary hotspot of Lyon! Here you can enjoy the best local products and delicacies, such as cheeses, charcuterie and wines. A must-visit for any gourmet. Geneva (2 hours) Geneva, located on the beautiful Lake Geneva and surrounded by the Alps, is a city rich in culture and history. The most famous landmark in Geneva is the Jet d'eau. This impressive water fountain shoots water up to 140 meters into the air and is visible from many parts of the city and the lake. As with any historic centre, there is the Old Town, with its narrow streets and charming squares. Visit the St. Pierre Cathedral with its impressive Gothic architecture and climb the tower for a panoramic view of the city. Finally, the Palais des Nations is the European headquarters of the United Nations Geneva and one of the most prestigious international buildings in Geneva.
