Cooking and tasting delicious meals has been our passion for years. The year before we moved to France, Tarcies did a one-day-a-week internship in the kitchen of René Tichelaar (Restaurant De Gieser Wilderman in Noordeloos), a famous chef and proud holder of a Michelin star for many years.

We live in the Bresse Bourguignonne, close to Burgundy and Beaujolais. We love to prepare appetizers and main courses from local products. For the main course, we enjoy slow-cooked dishes such as beef stew and veal fillet. And we have an excellent supplier of fresh fish, shellfish, and crustaceans. Our extensive platter of regional cheeses has been highly appreciated by our guests for years!

We buy the wine in the area (Burgundy, Beaujolais, Jura, Bugey), and at wine fairs. We prefer to buy directly from the winemaker, also in regions we visit during quiet periods. Furthermore, we have a wide selection of aperitifs and digestifs, such as pastis, various whiskeys, chartreuse, cognac, armagnac, calvados, verveine, and local drinks.

Breakfast

With us, the day starts with the charm of the French countryside. We serve an extensive breakfast with, among other things, baguette and pastries, a refined selection of regional cheeses and meats, our homemade jams, local honey. An egg from our own chickens is prepared on request in the way you wish.

Snack Platter

Between 12 and 5 pm, you can enjoy a snack platter with regional meats, regional cheeses, olives, pickles, bread and butter, and a glass of local wine. €30 (for 2 people). Preferably to be ordered at breakfast.

Table d’hôtes

In the evening, you can enjoy a four-course dinner with seasonal products and a touch of Burgundian refinement. We start with a house aperitif (a kir) and serve outdoors on the spacious terrace in nice weather. A delightful end to a wonderful day in the Bresse. €37.50 per person.

Honesty-bar

In summer, there is a refrigerator under the outdoor stairs with soft drinks, wines, and beer. Take what you want, note it down, and you can pay upon departure.
